The Jeddah tower

Construction of the world’s tallest building remains underway in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where it will stand at 3,281 foot tall, 559 more than current title holder, The Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Having faced previous delays, the $1.5 billion project has now reached the 63rd floor and is on schedule to open for business in 2020, featuring apartments, a hotel and retail.

Throughout the duration of construction, Thornton Tomasetti structural engineers are monitoring the concrete mixture weekly, ensuring that temperature changes and wind conditions don’t affect the building’s integrity.
